Often, I have wished for more time, or more of me to tackle the work and writing I must complete.
Most writers, like myself, have a day job. Writing is something we generally must squeeze in between life. For most, that’s career obligations and family responsibilities. And when there’s more than one writing project to manage, time is split even further.
I often feel like a Matryoshka Doll, those Russian nesting dolls that stack inside each other. When one opens, another slightly smaller one pops out, and then another, and another. In my Matryoshka mind, we are all working on separate projects consecutively within the same time frame.
Now, I’ve written many posts about being stressed and strapped for time due to my work and writing projects. I am currently in the middle of another crunch time with deadlines looming in all directions. But after curving over my laptop for far too long, and then lying on a foam roller to stretch out my spine, something struck.
I am busy, but I am also excited about the writing I’m doing. It’s scary and overwhelming, of course. And to be honest, I really do wish I had a few more of me to pop out and work on projects. But alas, I will settle with appreciating that I have the opportunities in which to write.
Creativity and inspiration are not always easy to come by, and don’t get me started about mischievous time! But I am grateful my head is still full of ideas and accept and receive all the blessings offered from above. I can only hope to do well with what I’ve been given.
So, aside from my foam roller, nature breaks, and some evening glasses of Chardonnay…I think I will stay busy.

I like the concept of the nesting dolls for all of our selves and their different projects.
