I love sharing pictures from public events…take a peek!

Poetry Reading at the Drunken Owl Theater, October 20, 2019

What a blast! I opened the Drunken Owl Theater with an October theme, and found three of my darkest colored poems from my new poetry book, Colors Collected. I read Shadows, Black Raven Eats the Sun, and Black of Night.

It felt strange reading only dark poems from my colorful book of poetry, but alas, that’s what the night called for. Thanks to Pamela Hobart Carter for sharing my work with Kevin Finney, creator for the Drunken Owl. He shared my poem, Blue Sneakers on the Blacktop, to open his September show. It was a delight to present in person this month.

If you need a night off from the hum and drum of life, my two peeps and I had a wonderful time. Our night was filled with incredible music (even from Kevin himself), and playwrights tugging at every emotion…yet ultimately laughter. I love October!

Friday the 13th Book Signing, September 2019:

My Book Signing on September 13th was a huge success! Thank you PNWA for inviting me to the author’s party, and thank readers for coming out to support me! I am humbly grateful!

You are cordially invited to a celebration for my debut poetry book, Colors Collected!

What: My first book signing at The PNWA Writer’s Conference on Friday, September 13th, 2019, at 7:00 PM, along with other amazing authors.

Where: Double Tree by Hilton Hotel on International Blvd., in Seattle (by the airport).

I couldn’t be more pleased to share this accomplishment with you. What began as a color-challenge for an online poetry series on Channillo.com has developed into a full-fledged poetry book with my heart across the pages. I will be offering my book at a discount at Friday Night’s Author Party.

Hope to see some friendly faces…if you’re in the area!

The “Pacific Northwest Writer’s Association” Writing Conference, in Seattle, September 2019

I cannot wait to attend the PNWA’s Writing Conference this year. It will be the first year I attend with colleagues (instead of hiding in the shadows by myself). I can certainly say I’ve grown much since coming out as a writer in 2017. I will post pictures when I have them. For now…I’m prepping my pitch for my fiction novel, Seam Keepers, and hoping I don’t fumble too much. I will also be promoting my debut poetry book, Colors Collected. Mostly, I will be there to learn everything I can about writing (and the business of authoring). One thing I know for sure, writers can always learn to write better. More to come…
